Microscopy and Analytical Imaging Research Resource Core Lab
The Microscopy and Analytical Imaging Research Resource Core Laboratory (MAI) provides life and physical sciences and engineering users a wide spectrum of sample preparation tools and techniques and imaging technologies.
For life sciences users’ studies of unicellular and multicellular organisms, the MAI provides multi-scale and advanced multi-dimensional imaging technologies that permit imaging the following: basic architecture; levels of organization (i.e., from atoms to molecules, organelles, cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, and whole organisms); and physiological states (i.e., health, sickness, decline, recovery, death).
For physical sciences and engineering users’ studies, the MAI provides high-resolution nano-scale imaging technologies and materials characterization and analytical spectroscopic imaging capabilities for discovery, fabrication, and characterization of materials; obtaining chemical information about nano-structures of interest; investigation of inter-and intramolecular interactions; and for modeling of nanoscale materials.
